Whip Lengths

 What is the best length?

Whips come in all shapes and sizes with each having their own traits and characteristics. For beginners, the recommended lengths are between 6-8 feet. You get whips that aren't timed too fast, but also not too heavy. Shorter whips between 3-5 feet are good for fast paced cracking, target work, and more, and are compact, but they do lack slightly in power and require more skill. Longer whips 9-12 feet or more are loud and powerful but also heavy and limited in the amount of cracks you can do with them because of their large size.
